SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY

ABOUT US

Welcome to The New Testament Church School of Theology (hereafter referred to as TNT/SOT).  TNT/SOT  is an interdenominational, post-secondary Christian education school where God is establishing His covenant here in the earth based upon the Doctrine of Jesus Christ (Heb. 6:1-3).

The School of Theology seeks to serve those of like biblical faith in evangelical Protestantism.  The faculty, governing board, and students are members of various denominational or independent churches and areas of the country.

Founded in 2014, TNT/SOT is considered a highly recommended educational institution by its students, faculty, graduates and community members.  Join other believers at an academically sound, affordable and accessible Christian school and begin your mission of service and disciple making.

We invite and encourage all to come and immerse in the Love and knowledge of Jesus Christ.  As you receive His words which are Spirit and Life, we ensure an atmosphere of refreshing--that good part which no one can take away (Luke 10:42)--being transformed into the image of God.

OUR HISTORY

The New Testament Church School of Theology is the educational outreach of the church, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization domiciled in Jonesboro, Louisiana.

The school ministry began primarily by recognizing the need to assist local ministers and other believers who were searching for an organized way of studying God's and in serious need of understanding the Gospel and obtaining Biblical foundational truths.  The desire to be well prepared by these persons was so strong and needful for the ministry work which they had been called to do that they sought help from Dr. Charles E. Nicholson.

By 2016, a small group was gathering after church on Sundays in the home of Pastor Charles and Min. Catherine Nicholson.  Shortly afterward, the founding President, Dr. Charles E. Nicholson, began holding classes in the Church's Fellowship Hall and its Administrative Office.

With this type of setup, the interest to study grew from not just the locals of Jackson Parish but to other students in surrounding parishes.  Students were required to commute further to attend classes.  Out of this travel hardship, the telephone conferencing and Zoom classes were birth.  More students were able to participate in on-line classes and encouraged others to do so as well.

A course of organized study and curriculum development has led to academic degrees being awarded in three programs.  The first commencement was held on November 2015 and since then classes have continued to steadily grow.

Currently, TNT/SOT is an associate member of Transworld Accrediting Commission, Inc. (TACI) which is headquartered in Riverside, California.  We believe that our students should be awarded degrees from an accredited, non-profit Christian educational institution.

Future plans include expanding course offerings and recruiting additional qualified faculty and staff.  Meanwhile, the leadership will continue to follow the leading and direction of the Holy Spirit regarding God's program.

OUR LOCATION

The New Testament Church School of Theology is located in the small town of rural Jonesboro, in the rolling hills of north Louisiana.  From the time the local courthouse was established in Jonesboro (1860), the town has been the railroad, agricultural, industrial and governmental center of Jackson Parish.  It is home to some of the most beautiful natural sites, and it is largely because of this region that the state of Louisiana has earned the nickname of "Sportsman's Paradise."  This nickname has its roots in Louisiana's rich history in camping, birdwatching, fishing, hiking, and hunting and is the mecca for outdoor lovers.
